Hotel Khiva, Khiva, Khorezm

A fascinating place. This is a must go for the romantic tourists: the place is an old madrasa, converted into a comfortable hotel. For instance, you can now sleep in an old student cell. The building, located just under the Minor Kala, is simply wonderful. And the view over the ramparts is amazing.

Ok. Maybe the owners are not so nice. But the place is not too expensive. It also located inside Khiva. The good point of the hotel is the terrace, where you can sleep if you want, or just enjoy at the sunset a really nice view over Khiva!

Khaem Xam hotel, Sam Neua

Khaem Xam is a little 3 storey hotel, located in Sam Neua city centre, overlooking the river close to the market. A few rooms, correct sanitary and price.

Hotel Floridor

Near Denfert Rochereau station, it's a well located hotel and not so expensive. It's a small hotel with an old decoration.

From Denfert Rochereau, it's easy to go to the airports, by bus or using the subway RER B

Hotel Uzbekistan, Tashkent

Once upon a time, the 17 floors height hotel Uzbekistan was a great symbol of luxury tourism in Uzbekistan. It has just been renovated and now you can enjoy this old fashion soviet style massive hotel...

No room cheaper than $80. But in Tashkent, B&B and Guest Houses are often expensive (around $30 at least...) So for a little bit more, you can enjoy here a comfortable and emblematic place!

Penguin House, Sathorn, Bangkok

Penguin house is not a charming place. But rooms are really clean and not so expensive.

Hospederia en el Convento de la Asuncion, Almagro, La Mancha

Located on the site of a former convent, this affordable hotel is a historic monument. Volume, space and comfort are sufficient.

Very acceptable regional cooking.

Good price-quality ratio.

Hotel Jipek Joli, Nukus, Karakalpakstan

Finding a nice place in Nukus is not an easy game. The Jipek Joly Hotel is a good solution for those who want to sleep in a correct hotel. The rooms are correct. Beware, sometimes, you need to wait a bit to get water in the sanitaries...

The hotel is decorated in a local Karakalpakstan style. You can eat local cuisine outside on the terrace.

The hotel can also organise trips for you if you want to go to Moynak and see the vestiges of the Aral sea...

By the way, in a literal translation, Jipek Joly means Silk Road ;-)

Les Beauchots B&B, Saint Germain, Troyes

Les Beauchots is a very nice and peaceful B&B. The 5 rooms are located in a charming XVIIth / XVIIIth century mansion, surrounded by an apple tree orchard and a little park where you can go for a walk. The B&B is located about 5km from Troyes. If you have a car, this is an ideal base for shopping around in Troyes' clothes factory outlet centres such as Marques Avenue or Mc Arthur Glen.
